Sean,
Well, I can help you with the T-5 conversion...and I plan to swap out the
T-5 for the Tremec 3550 shortly so I have done some research on that subject.
I have a T-10 bellhousing that is supposed to fit the 3550...but I have not
tried it yet. I dont know if there are any other issues that I will have to
deal with. I am sure that I will find out later.
As for the Richmond, it has been done before...but I dont think that it has
ever been done on the 74's. Rick, as well as the rest (I belive...but I could
be wrong) have done their conversions on the the 75 (Fords).
For the 74's (yours and mine) we have the problem of the AMC motor and
bellhousings. I think that we need to consult some of the guys on the AMC
mailing list if we need more info on the Richmond swap. They are always
talking about the subject....but I dont know how far they have gotten...or what
obstacles they have overcome. They also discuss the GM 6 speed tranny as
another option. There always seems to be a problem with the bellhousings and
lack of adapters.
I have been off of the AMC list for a while, so I am not as up to date on
conversions as I could be.
Let us all know what you find out.

Jamie
