Not to rain on your party, but my father-in-law, a former 
SOL'er (Sprite, Alpine, Tiger), warned me when I bought my 
Alpine that driving with the top down in cold weather can 
contribute to a condition known as Bell's palsy, in which the
facial muscles become partially paralyzed.  Be careful.

On a less morbid note, we have no idea where his Sprite and Alpine
have gone, but in the late '70s he sold the Tiger to a co-worker who
has kept it in original condition and still drives it in good 
weather.  Ask me if I have my eye on that piece of family history!
