You might try putting in the Saab fuel pump the worst that can happen
is that it'll starve the carb at high revs. If it runs rich you can
can put in a fuel pressure regulator for $4 or $5 dollars to get the
right pressure. I don't remember what the right pressure for an
SU Twin is but something tells me that it should be greater than 4 and less
than 5 psi. But I may be completely off. I put in a new electric fuel
pump in the trunk of my 1500 Spitfire and it cost about $30. There was
a choice of several unit for plus minus $5.
