XJ6 Series 1 4.2 models in Sweden are fitted with SU HD8 carbs
beginning somewhere -70/71.
Different countries has different setups.

Mine is a late -72 model and has nearly the Series 2 engine setup with a
hot air pickup tunnel running from the exhaust manifolds over to
the air intake. I've also fitted the great looking Dunlop chrome wheels
that are standard on Series 3 E-types and where optional on Series 1 XJ
in the U.S. Mine are not as round as wheels should be and has
already wore out four new precious Dunlop 70VR15 tires after some 1000 miles.
But looking good is part of Jaguar owning so the visual appearance of
the wheels has had priority over using ordinary dull-looking balanced wheels.

Does somebody have stories about managing Jaguars and passagers in heavy
traffic jams or traffic stops when the cooling water decides to flush away,
temperature rises dangerously, you go out of petrol, your girlfriend or wife
gets tired of your loud excitement about the embarassing situation,
you find out the cylinder head gasket has blown again, etc, etc.. ??
Sometimes this can be just like manually controlling the cooling system
of a nuclear powerplant (represented by both the girlfriend and the car).
In those cases there might or might not be a technical or social disaster
depending on whether you're turning the right buttons or not.
