Regarding pinging and antifreeze:

First, thanks for all of the replies! I have a lot of work to do.

Second, the mention of the changing of the water/af mixture as a
solution that Randy and Jerry talk about was very wierd to read.
My car overheated yesterday. It was in the normal range (halfway
between N and C) and all of a sudden jumped up to N and a little
above N. Previous experience has taught me that this is where I
start losing coolant.

So I stopped, let it cool off, then added about 1/2 gallon of water
to the system. The previous mixture was 60/40. Now it is
probably 50/50. Guess what? The pinging went away. Like
totally wierd man.
