Well I think I have a lot of the problems associated with being in the
desert solved. I think. The charging problem I related here recently has
gone away entirely. Amazing what a new waterpump and mounting H/W for
the altenator can do :)

Now for something completely different. I seem to be pumping oil out at
an alarming rate. The location of said oil pumping station is located at
the rear of the block where the return(?) for the oil filter and the
line for the oil pressure gauge attach just above the petcock for
coolant drain. ('77 MGB) The oil filter has been changed to an inverted
standard oil filter cartridge.

I have to pull the distributor in order to get at these to connections.
And when I have attached a wrench to them and try to turn they appear to
be quite tight. So should I like undo them and add some teflon tape to
cause a better seal to be made? I thought I could live with this problem
but it appears to be getting worse. Not to mention I don't like the
extra oil on the driveway/parking slot. That and I'm tired of
leaking/pumping my oil, instead I would like to change it at regular
intervals.

Thanks in advance for all of the replies,

Bruce...
