This same symptom was exhibitted by the Datsun I was working on last
week. It turned out that the problem was the wire to the anti-runon
solenoid was loose, and not opening up the fuel cutoff. With the choke
on, there was enough suction to pull fuel past the cutoff, but without
it there wasn't.
