HRG made wonderfully primitive lbc's from 1936 up to the mid fifties. Most were
similar to MGT series in styling and concept, but some had more aerodynamic
bodywork, including at least one LeMans class winner. Meadows and Singer
engines were used. The initials are of E.A. Halford, G.H. Robins, and H.T.
Godfrey, who was also the "G" of GN cars. They did general engineering work, a
few prototypes and maybe some engine mods after they quit making production
cars (if you call 221 cars a production run). They're long gone by now. Your
MGA engine could have been intended for one of their prototypes. Advertise it
in one of the English vintage car mags, some Hurg owner may snap it up.
