Today while driving around in the HOT sun I noticed something that
had escaped my attention last night: The tachometer, which had been
getting very flakey of late, now is solid as a rock. Hmmm, the pieces
of the puzzle are starting to fall into place. The mysteriously
resurrected horn, the formally intermittent tach. And there's still a
couple of connectors I haven't touched yet. God knows what forgotten
doodad will start working when I re-seat those suckers.

Kinda nice to have the tach properly doing its things again since it's
the only means I have of judging speed. I've really gotta get the
speedo fixed one of these days.

Speaking of hot. God it is hot. The hacked out Fairlane engine in the
snake really seems to loves it. It gets so smooth and healthy sounding
when the water temp gets up to 180 degrees or more and the cockpit
becomes unbearable. Probably there's another clue in there somewhere.

One thing I DO NOT like is the aluminum core of the wood rim steering
wheel. It gets hot enough to fry your fingers.
