Well, I do have this 77 Spitfire with a mighty 1147 motor with bad thrust
washers in it.  The body isn't too bad.  This was the car that I took to
VTR in Seattle this year.  If you want to come to Salt Lake and take a look,
let me know.  Since you'd more than likely have to put bulges in the
bonnet to fit the OHC TR7 motor in the car, the fact that the top of the
bonnet needs repainting should be a detriment.  Why not just put the V8
into a Spit?

Yes, the Spitfire and Midget are quite different.  The later Midgets used
the same 1500 motor as the Spits, but are a unibody construction, whereas
the Spit is separate body and frame.
