Peter,
I bought some chrome plated headers from JC Whitney for around $50.
They were the same brand as pedeled by Moss and BV. I bought them
because the header was less than the downpipe alone for my
'71 MGBGT. I got the chrome plated ones because they were made
from thicker tubing, thicker by 2 guage I think.
I then got a local muffler shop to bend up a 1 7/8" pipe to serve
to get the spent gases out the back. The muffler shop also stuck
on a single glass-pack to make the noise more mellow.
Now I can scream around town under the illusion of going hell-for-leather
and not pose a threat to myself or others.
