Scott,

I can offer a suggestion regarding painting. A friend of mine who
paints cars on a regular basis has a neato trap that uses a roll of
toilet paper as a filter and does a great job of keeping nasties from
reaching the gun. He changes the roll of TP before each painting
session to ensure cleanliness of the air supply to the gun. In
addition, the piece of air hose between this filter and the gun is
_never_ used for any other purpose.

Another thing you might consider doing is to run 1/2" PVC to strategic
locations in the garage to minimize the amount of hose you have to drag
around. If you connect the compressor to this system with a short piece
of hose and quick disconnects, you will still be able to move the
compressor around if needed.

Have fun!
