You know, all through this thread on which oil to use for break-in, I have been 
thinking about the fact that when an aircraft piston engine gets overhauled, you
break it in for the first 25 hours or so with "straight mineral oil".  I can't 
tell you what exactly is different about mineral oil, or why it is used, only 
that it is.  Any A&P's on the list who can explain?

For you Scott, being local, you should be able to find it at local airport 
shops, i.e., "The Airport Shoppe" at Palo Alto airport at the end of 
Embarcadero, if you're so inclined.
