In British Cars Digest # 1263 (I think), gary@meadows.salem.ge.com asked:

Try:

Anders Clausager
British Motor Industry Heritage Trust
Heritage Motor Centre
Gaydon, Warwick CV35 0BJ (that's a zero)
ENGLAND

If you wanna drop the dime, call them at 011-44-926-641-188.

If you talk to Anders himself (he's now Head Archivist or something even
better) give him my regards. He'll remember me as then-head of the Morris
Minor Registry (I visited him for an entire day in the summer of 1981, back
when they were still in a castle . . . . )

As I recall, for a nominal fee ($10 or less) they'll go into the production
ledgers they have (almost all MGs, I think, all Morris Minors, lots of other
BMC sedans, dunno about the rest) and tell you production date, destination
market, color, and whatever else that particular piece of the BMC empire (or
its predecessors or successors) chose to record.

(Back in '81 I recall he'd just received a shipment of Morris Marina
production records, which were computer printed file cards rubber-banded
together . . . sitting in a box on a dusty floor. Anders was quite unsure
that anyone would ever care about those records; I tried to convince him that
NOTHING should ever be thrown out. Wonder whatever happened? Hope they saved
them; there's now a substantial Morris Marina/Ital Owners Club in the UK, I'm
told.)

Let me know if this works or doesn't. Might not hurt to post details of what
& how to do . . . or has this stuff been posted in the 1260-or-so editions
before I got on the list?

Incidentally, friends report the Heritage Motor Centre (basically a huge new
museum of all BL and pre-BL brands) is great. Anyone going to England should
think about visiting.

Cheers, jv.
