The Elva name comes from the French "elle va", meaning "she goes".

The Courier Mark 1 & 2 were made by Frank Nichols in 1958-61. Styling similar
to the Lotus Elite, with an MGA or MGB engine. Approximately 700 cars. Did well
in SCCA racing and sold well in the US until the importer landed in the
slammer.

The Mark 3 & 4 were built by Trojan (approximately 100 cars) and were not as
good because they moved the engine forward to make more interior room, ruining
the handling.

Elvis may be dead, but the Elva and Alvis live on, eh?
