I sympathised with Colin Brace's problems with his MGB turn signals and
now the failing hazard switch. I had a similar problem with intermittent
signals in my 79 mini. Turned out that it was a fault in the very cheap
and nasty 70's lucas hazard switch - the main power line for the turn
signals also is routed through this switch, so what looked like a turn
signal problem, was actually a hazard switch problem.

One word of advice: I was recommended to fit the later version of this
hazard switch (now in current minis/metros etc) which is rated for larger
alternator driven systems ("heavy duty"?) and includes a warning red lamp
which goes on with the lights (new "E" european union requirement?).

Only catch is - expect to pay about $25 - so a used one may be a better
investment. After all, in certain Lucas systems, this switch may outlast
everything else.

Cheers Andrew
