Guys, the only thing that works in cases like this is heat...as in cherry red 
heat.  You have got to add heat to the rusted up joint so fast that you don't 
distroy stuff around it.  Sometimes that is impossible.  There is a chemical 
reason , I think, as to what the heat does to the rusted shut joint, but I've 
forgotten what it is.
