For us type 14 owners, Lotus Tool #1 was the Parking Brick, a piece of
wood one placed behind the wheel while parking, and alternately, and
primarily, used to hold up the bonnet by placing it "under" the hinge. I
made a few out of walnut for gifts.
 If the broomstick isn't attractive, stain and wax it.
