The October issue of the British magazine "EVO" finally made it into my
hands and I was pleasantly surprised to find that, in addition to the cover
photo and feature article on the 340R, there is a very good connected story
on a fantastically (!) developed 26R! There's a "centerspread" photo of
the two cars parked together and 6 or 8 more shots of the Peter Bottrill
26R. The 340R design team gives credit to the 26R along with other cars as
contributing to the 340R concept. The point is made that the Bottrill 26R
has the same 340 bhp per ton as the track specification 340R. Apparently
it does, the performance figures for the 26R: 0 to 60 in 3.7 and 0 to 100
in 8.9 . . . faster that the projected speeds for the street 340R. This
is not your ordinary 26R however: 1950 cc twincam with 188 HP. I could
nit-pic the 26R history in the article but I'm not!
