Hi Eric:
I'm running oversize tires on my 70 1600. I had the same rear rubbing problem 
when
making hard turns. I installed rear air shocks and applied just enough lift so 
the
tires don't rub. I for one like the rearend up slightly from the original low
position. The ride is a little stifffffff but it looks good.
