What the heck is synthetic made out of, anyway? Dollar bills? Certainly not 
olives/organics/etc if it's synthesized.

You don't have to drain the oil to change the filter.  The oil in the engine 
is blocked on one side by the oil pump and on the other side by the oil 
oil galeries in the engine.  When you spin off the engine you will lose 
little more oil than what is in the filter, which will cause the iol to need 
topping off any way.
     
I would prefer to move away from dino based oil and go to something that 
is more earth friendly.
