Gary,
I did that too and the WD40 did nothing also. One of the weak points of the
hinges is that they bend. Make sure the hinges are flat and don't curve
about .5 - .75" away from the pin. A new hinge is almost perfectly straight.
I put the hinge in a vice where the bend started and them wacked it with a
2x4 and a mini sledge to get it straight.
Almost all the hinges I had were bent and caused door alignment problems.
