i plan on having the head checked (aluminum), but how do i get off all the
old gasket sealant that the previous owner used? i have sprayed both the head
and block with carb cleaner and used a brass wire brush to get as much as i
can, but there is still some left on, especially the block. also, marc
mentioned to clear out the thread passages for the head bolts, how do i go
about doing that? and, being that the head gasket blew, there is coolant
contaminated oil on the rocker assembly. i am not too familiar with this area
so i chose to leave it alone. but, what is the best/proper way to clean it?
