We have a challenge that we don't quite know how to handle with our 1500.
The gauges (excluding the speedometer) don't seem to be working correctly,
same thing with the lights. According to the PO, the gauges "work in
reverse"; for example, the temp gauge moves from hot to cold instead of vice
versa. We haven't actually SEEN the gauges work, so it is possible they
don't even function. Occasionally we have a rear light or two which appear
to be brake lights. They supposedly also work in reverse, staying on until
the brake is engaged. Again, we haven't actually seen them working properly.
As for turn signals, back-up lights and tail lights... well, they are as
non-existent as the turn signals (thank goodness for hand signals!) We DID
have a map light for a brief time, but that doesn't work either.
Headlights work fine, the car starts great. We received excellent advice on
making sure all the ground connections are clean and tight. Short of a
complete rewire, any ideas on what else we might be able to do to get some
illumination?
