Squealing Brakes

Dearest List,

On my 67.5 1600, I replaced the brake shoes/cylinders and pads/calipers a
few months ago.
Now the brakes squeal until I use the brakes a couple of times, then it's
fine from there on.

Same thing with my 83 280ZX, I replaced the pads all around, and they squeal
too, until I
brake a couple of times.

What gives?
