Robert,

Did you use the anti-squeal compound thta usually comes with the
replacement pads? If it didn't come with it, all parts houses sell it
separately.

If your pads have the compound on it, try putting a chamfer on the leading
edge of the pads. It doesn't have to be a large one, just somwthing to
break the sharp corner. That sometimes does the trick.

On a Volvo 240 series I had neither of the above fixes helped. It turned
out to be the compound used in the friction material. Changing to another
brand of pads fixed the problem.
