oooh ! learning to drive the dreaded stick shift !

Here's a bit of advice I came up w/ when trying to teach my younger bro
about such things. Bear in mind he is NOT mechanically minded - I think that
I got passed all the "car-genes" in the family. My dad was trying to teach
him and kept running up against a brick wall. By the end of the day - between
the "whiplash" & bro not even caring HOW the clutch worked - they were both
pretty exasperated.

I finally stepped in - stuck my little bro in my split-bumper MGB and told
him this : "think of kitties." <G> You know - how cute fuzzy little
kittens do that "cushy- biscuit-making thing" with their paws. He finally
got the mental picture & BINGO - the feet followed along. Sorta pissed off
my dad - all his hard work, complete w/ technical theory and here I was
talking about cats. LOL

Sounds silly eh ? - but a very good hint for helping the
completly-non-mechanically-mided out with their first bout w/ a clutch.

Laurie :-)
