Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. And thanks to Steve and Jim on 
311s.org for sending me to the competition prep manual.

They mention going as high as .480" valve lift, trimming the stands to keep 
the geometry correct, and shortening the pushrods, but nothing about the 
seals....?

Of couse Walter Peterson told me much of this already, but I thought there 
had to be a better/cheaper/less complicated way.....Silly me.....

Don't know if they used seals (been suggested leaving them out) or went to a 
different type of seal...Chevy/Porsche. . .?   or Custom made as Walter 
pointed out?
