Just because something is rare does not mean it is worth a lot of money. The
fender is worth nothing unless you happen to have a 212 that needs a fender.
It could be worth thousands if it is the last part you need to restore a 212
to showroom shape.  

Personally, I don't understand the push to make the roadsters "worth" more.
It only matters if you are looking to sell it, and I'm hanging on to mine. I
for one am very glad that I was able to purchase my current 2000 for nearly
the same price as my first one, nearly 20 years later. For those of us who
don't have the dollars for a full on restoration or an outrageous custom,
the "undervalued" roadster provides the opportunity to have a really fun
car. Something that you can drive without being terrified that somebody will
scratch it in a parking lot, but still draw a thumbs up and that roadster
grin every time you leave the driveway.

Just my $.01 (saving the other one for pieces and parts)
