Pat,

I agree. I looked all over in that 310 schematic for a voltage regulator bu=
t could not find one. I was surprised since almost all cars from those year=
s used voltage regulators to run the gauges.

 I=E2=80=99ll check. One difference I see is that the 311s have a voltage r=
egulator for the instruments. I=E2=80=99ll have to check on the ground for =
the gauge. If there is one, that could cause this problem if it is bad.=C2=

Sounds like you have a bad fuel gauge. Just to be sure you can try groundin=
g the terminal on the gauge that the yellow wire goes to.=20
