Here's another obscure gap that someone may be able to fill in regarding the
SCCA and the Cal Club: In the very early sixties, the dispute between them
resulted in the creation of a third "club" to put on sports car races in
Southern California. 

My recollection is that they only put on one race, at Pomona, and the rumor
was that anyone entering that race wouldn't be allowed to appear at races
sponsored by the other groups. Which didn't stop me since I was more worried
about someone discovering that I was still under 21 - the "legal" age at the
time. Fortunately, no one at registration or tech asked to see my
inelegantly forged driver's license.

Anyone recall the details of the "breakaway" group?
