Yup, me. Or at least I'm in Portland and I drive at SIR. Lots of racing up
here, Jack. You're going to like it in Kent. Right on the approach to Mt.
Rainier.

I'm originally from Boston, and even though I've owned a beachouse on the
Oregon coast for more than ten years, I'm still surprised and disappointed
when I go to watch the sun rise over the water. On the other hand, the
sunsets are great.

SIR is under new ownership, and they are aiming to make it a FIA standard
track. I think it's a brilliant approach. If they pull it off, the SCCA
will once again hold races there and they'll have a strong pull for bigger
stuff. The track has great history and it's a blast to drive--one of my
favorites. Very technical, lots of places to screw up, and lots of places
to pass.

The SOVREN Fall Finale is Sept 15,16 at SIR http://www.sovren.org/ I'll
be there for that. Then there's a hill climb at Maryhill in the Columbia
Gorge--a long drive for you but a very cool event.

Welcome to the Northwest. You'll probably never go back to Jersey.

Bill

Amici,

I am in the process of changing jobs and moving my family from NJ to WA.
My
new job is in Kent, Washington, coincidentally the home of SIR (Seattle
International Raceway) which seems to be making a revival under new
ownership,
starting in January 2002 (see
http://www.bmwaca.org/seattle_intl_raceway.htm)
SIR appears to be within 15 minutes of the homes we are looking at. Does
anybody race there?

mjb - sometime before 12 September, please change my subscription address,
as
follows:

        From: brooks@belcotech.com
        To: tr3a@worldnet.att.net

For the rest of y'all, I look forward to meeting the left coast FOT. Is
it
just me, or does the ocean seem like it is on the wrong side of the coast?
<grin>

We'll be keeping the tr3a@worldnet.att.net Email address in Seattle.
Starting
12 September, however, this Email address <brooks@belcotech.com> will be
obsolete.

Later,

Jack (too much to do and not nearly enough time) Brooks
1960 TR3A (definitely riding in the moving van)
1980 TR8 (may be riding in the moving van)
Hillsdale, NJ
