Bill,
CVAR moved the DP cars into their Group 7. We now run with CP cars (mostly
240Z's and 911's) instead of MGB's. CVAR rules are based on the 1972 SCCA
GCR and PCS. We get to run 60 Series and front spoilers (if they meet the 72
rules). Most CVAR prod. cars run radials. The 15" DP cars and all CP cars
are waivered from the 60 Series rule due to tire availablity and can run 50
Series. I chose to run the Hoosier 5.50 - 15 last year mostly because of Mid
Ohio and to see if I could be as fast on them as I was on the Yoke 008R's. I
figured that I could wear them out and then go to cheap 225-60-15 race
radials for this year. Then along came the 205-60-15 Dunlop race tire. It
looks like it meets all the requirements for those vintage groups that allow
60 series tires. Roger Kraus tells me that they are slower than the 008R's.
I've ordered a set, and I'll pass on feedback after our next event Apr.4/5.
