SVRA allows the Porsche 356 guys Toyo RA1's.. or at least the "CP"
(but still Group 3) 356's. That may explain how Vic Skirmants can run
2'17's at Watkins Glen. Nothing against Vic though as he is a multi
National Champion and can build a killer car, and drive to match ( he
WILL be blistering fast no matter what tires he has).. but as far as I
know no one with a 4cyl TR can hang with him (the uber fast crowd of
the Datsun Roadster of Dick Tillinger, an Alfa, two (4cyl) MGB's, and
some of Vic's customers also have and can run sub- 2'20's at WGI). If
SVRA allows 50 series DOT legal tires on the TR3/4's one certain TR
driver feels he can run with and beat those guys.
