I agree with most points of Glen's plan. I for one would love to see
everybody running the same set of rules. But I don't see that happening.

The race organizers are stuck between the rock and the proverbial hard
place. They need as many of us as possible to bring our cars out to play.
They can not afford to alienate racers who have over-prepped their cars.
So, there has been no enforcement of the rules already in place.

The market has made Vintage Racing what it is today. In these unsure
economic times with entries shrinking, are the sanctioning bodies really
choosing NOW to start enforcing rules?

The way I see it, there are two camps in Vintage Racing. The "Vintage" camp
who want to see racing just like it was back in the day, and the "Racing"
camp who want to go racing in old cars.

Do we really just want to be reenacting the past, or are we racing? I'm not
spending all this time and money to be reenacting the past. If I wanted to
do that, I would go to some Civil War Reenactment and play there. Would
probably save me tons of money to boot...

As someone who has worked hard to get towards the front of the pack without
cheating, I ask where is this sport headed? Is running up front in Vintage
Racing is a crime???

(I think I have Glen beat on most unpopular person on FOT today!)
