Dear FOT,
Has anyone ever heard of straightening or replacing bent rear axle tubes? I
now have two complete rear beam axle assemblies with bent axle tubes laying on
the garage floor from the last two crashes. The tubes seem to be threaded
into the gear housing, and then staked. I thought that I once saw a TR plate
(drawing) with the two tubes separate from the gear housing.
I had hoped to make one good assembly from the two, but both tubes are bent
on one of them.
