 Don't use DOT5 for serious braking. It's just low maintenance and won't
harm paint. that's the only good thing about it. It's actually dangerous in
racing applications, and the manufacturers don't recommend it.

It's been a long time since I've heard reports of any incompatibility.
Castrol
and DOT 5 should be safe regardless, but lots of folks now use other
brands.
