I broke two rocker stand mounting studs, both times the rear one,
this weekend and I haven't been able to find the smoking gun cause.
I'd appreciate any input.

No marks on valves or piston tops
no marks indicating interference with sleeve eyebrows
spring coil clearance - .080 coil gap at cam's full lift
retainer - to - guide clearance .100 at full lift
EGT's at racing speeds 1400, same front and back, but carbon deposits
in #3 and #4 somewhat lighter indicating somewhat leaner conditions -
but not much
grade 8 studs
heavy duty outrigger type aluminum rocker stands
bronze guides, .004 stem clearance

Can you think of anything I'm missing?
