When I rerouted the fuel run in my Spitfire last year. I did it with all
braided lines and inside the passenger compartment along the doorsill on the
passenger side. Which almost made it a straightline run to the carbs by way
of the fuel regulator which is mounted on the little shelf on the right side
under the hood. The line is protected not only by the stronger bodywork
along the doorsill but also by brace bars of the rollcage immediately above
it. I also took the occasion to install a fuel pressure gauge (it's the
gauge farthest from me on the dash, which also makes it the closest to the
fuel line & carbs).
