The pilot bushing is captured in place by the flywheel. It should be
impregnated with 10 sae motor oil by soaking it in oil for 24 hours or
putting the bushing on top of one thumb so your thumb fills covers the
bottom of the center hole. Then fill the hole with oil. Then put your other
thumb on top of the hole and squeeze both thumbs together until you can see
oil come out through the pores on the outside of the bushing. This will
ensure that the pores withing the bushing have a resevoir of oil to keep the
bushing and the input shaft lubricated. wipe off the excess oil and slide it
into the crankshaft, Then install the flywheel. Grease should not be used in
this location!
