Mine have all been that way too, AFAIK it's correct.

I doubt it's necessary with current supply, but I still soak mine in engine
oil overnight.

Back before Oilite was invented, I believe they used simply sintered bronze,
which needed to be soaked.  But I believe today it's supplied already oiled.

Still, can't hurt to soak it some more IMO.  Dry it with a paper towel or
similar before installing, you don't want oil dripping off the outside.
