I've seen the other side of this, showing up at a race after a 2000 mile tow
and finding 70's cars on slicks and the admonishment "all tape repairs from
the previous event have to be permanently repaired before the next event." Not
what I had in mind. I'm game for any kind of racing, but when someone calls it
vintage racing then there needs to be some effort at presentation. That said,
I expect these guys to be very reasonable. Those of you that know me realize
I'm a bit on the grubby side. Peyote has always been rough, it's only since
Tony Garmey has been working on it that anyone could call it gussied up. HMSA
always took it happily. There are rough cars running at Monterey, rough cars
at Coronado. And very pretty ones.

Honestly, there seems to be a lot of skivvies getting knotted way, way in
advance of getting any real bad news.
