I've always used about 25 lb, figuring I need that much to maintain oil 
pressure in the galleys.  However, I just looked at Accusump's instructions, 
and they say only 7-10 psi is needed.  I guess my 'sump will now have more oil 
in it!

That "relief stem" is not actually a relief valve.
That valve is there to pressurize the system.
That is what pushes the oil back into the
engine; it allows you to put some air pressure
behind the piston, to push on the piston which
provides the force to put oil into the engine
when needed.  How much air pressure you
put in there (partly) determines how fast the
oil flows back into the engine.  As I recall,
the directions that came with the Accusump
gave a range of suggested pressures.
