No, they are different in length. You need to change the entire assembly.

Are axle shafts at all interchangeable, between TR4 and TR3 (late-Girling)?
My car has a tr4 rear axle ( it was raced with big slicks and WIDE fiberglass
fenders in it's previous life), and now that I must use stock steel fenders
and (Tr6) steel rims, I have clearance issues. (Is there a "better" steel rim
to substitute?)
I do have a spare tr3 axle housing. Would it be ok to rebuild that with the
Salisbury LS dif, and the tr4 shafts? I don't have enough knowledge about
this.
