Couple points:

GT-6 trans case and all internals will fit Spitfire. HOWEVER,the GT6 bellho=
using will NOT,must use Spitfire bellhousing, preferably the aluminum one...=
.Also, the GT6 input shaft must be machined down to fit the Spit ,in length =
and nose step lengths and ODs...there are probably a number of FOT people t=
hat have the drawing for machine work ( lathe)...The GT6 input splines are =
1" x 10=C2=A0 =C2=A0(ten being the number of splines),larger than the spit =
ones...So you would also need to use matching 1" x 10 clutch centers.and th=
e seal in the bellhousing must be larger to fit the 1" input shaft...One mo=
re thing, you may need to change the main shaft rear flange that mates to dr=
iveshaft...some hole patterns are different....and the mainshaft splines ma=
y differ from models and driveshaft combos..... Other than that,...drops ri=
ght in !

Interesting...I received three gearboxes with my Spitfire.=C2=A0
In the car is an overdrive box. The other two are standard 4 speed Spitfire=

Now you have me wondering what=E2=80=99s inside??
How did they build different ratio boxes back in the day?

Triumph Friends,Now that we've all worked out the oil cooler/filter issue, =
who wants to take a crack at Spitfire gearbox ideas?? I currently have a 12=

ratio gear set - I think I even remember reading that some of the LeMans S=
