Hello Nick,
That advice is very strange as even the factory used the  rocker cover studs
as a lifting point, as so do I.
The two studs are used with a square bar joining the two fixing points with
an eyelet attached to it and this gives a ideal angle with the transmission
down to secure into the frame.
