Hi James,
I am always very careful not to become involved in any sort of "muck raking"
on this group, or any other for that matter, but I feel it would be remiss
of me not to comment on your recent post which maligns the good reputation
or Healey Surgeons.
I can imagine that you don't have too many Healey specialists in Henderson,
NV, just as we don't have many around here and this testimony to just how
hard it is to make a successful business from old British cars. An excellent
reputation, such as that deservedly earned by Healey Surgeons, is essential
for such a business to survive and to this end Bruce and Inan have worked
very hard for many years to build Healey Surgeons into the well regarded
business that it is today.
I am appalled that you should so callously smear their good name.
Unless you have irrefutable evidence to back up your accusation that they
were in any way responsible for the poor work on your car I would suggest
that you promptly post a retraction and apology.

Michael Salter

i spoke too soon. further investigation reveals that the present owner did
not have it rebuilt, but bought it off someone who had the work done at
healey
surgeons in maryland. how much is them and how much the previous owner is
at
fault i have been unable to determine. the fuel line comes up the exhaust
side, is bent sharply and brought up over the exhaust manifold, and lays
over
the rear carb. rubber hoses for the carb overflow dropped down directly
onto
hot exhaust and burned a hole in one of them. wiper switch miswired and
shut
off in down position. no heater pipe so temp gage line lay directly on the
head and now does not work. had to order a new one. long screw in door
handles which put holes and scratches in glass. trunk lid seal on body
instead of lid and trunk will not close properly. this goes on and on and i
have no idea how much was done professionally and how much is previous owner
neglect. i am sorry i spoke before i had all the facts, but it p***** me
off
when owners in our club pay good money and get shoddy work. i hate to see
healeys mistreated. again, sorry if i scared anyone. healeymanjim
