For my money, the Goodwood Revival is the very best vintage event in the
world, bar none. It's not just racing and not just cars, but rather lots of
Anglophile culture, great WWII warbirds, and great vintage-correct clothing on
both
participants and spectators. It's often referred to as "The best costume party
on four wheels."
HOWEVER, some notes to keep in mind.
It's way to late to get any accommodations within fifty miles of the site,
except possibly in the onsite camp grounds -- which are very good and include
showers and good WCs -- check their website to see if you can still reserve
space; bring your own camping equipment.
If you've thought of going, then start looking now for a good B&B around that
area -- check English B&B websites -- for next year.
Costumes aren't mandatory, but one of the great pieces of fun at the event.
In any case, "appropriate apparel" is required for admission to the car paddock
-- coat and tie for men and no trousers or bare midriffs for women -- period
military uniforms or period dress encouraged.
"Period" for Goodwood is considered the period when the airfield was
operational and when the circuit was first used for racing -- 1940-1960.

Have FUN!
Cheers
Gary
