You need Brake Spring Tool. They are available at Pep Boys their item number
46750. For the rears, you can use their item number 45100. I also have their
item 11850 Brake spring Pliers which can come in handy also. They are around
10 bucks each.

Is there a special tool to install new shoes to the backing plate? I have
had the drums turned and new bonded linings installed on the shoes, but for
the
life of me I don't have the strength to wrestle them back on against the
springs. HELP!!!
P.S. I used a monster screwdriver to get the old ones off.
