I have the vent opening on the left side (The hot side) and this is the
narrower opening BN1 fender. It also has the led filled bead for stiffening.
The right side is a BN-2 wide opening type fender without the bead or
opening. apparently the vent slit creates a floppy fender and the bead is
required to make it hold shape. In the later 100-6s, they turned the bead
into the swage line curving around the back side of the wheel opening and I
think they also determined that the vent didn't really do anything to help
with the heat problem so they saved some money by not having it.
